Week 5

Wooo! You're back again. I know my last post was only an hour ago... but lets pretend it was a week later haha. Let's just say I need to learn some time management...

So today was our first full lesson with our new lecturer John! And today he taught us how to animate our Flash animation to crash into a wall, and to add sound and a background.

I rebuilt my road, and added in my old Nigh Sky to add a background.

I drew a white line in the middle of the road, and added a city background with a night starry sky.

Once I animated the car to run into a wall, I made an 'explosion'

and then I made the explosion expand

Once that was all animated, I added a crashing noise. We had to add a new layer, and make it a keyframe. (The shortcut for a keyframe is F6! fyi  :) )

When we previewed our animation, it kept repeating. So to make it only play once we added an Action Script.  This goes into a keyframe and the layer is named "Action". The code snip-it we used was "Stop();"

FUN FACTS I LEARNT TODAY!
  • Sound if flash can be an MP3, AIF (which is used in macs) and a WAV (used in pc's)
  • Flash convert all audio in MP3's

Time for goodbye once again, and this time I promise you I wont be posting again in the next hour! because next week is uni and school holiday (wehooo!) so you can get a break from me for a week or two. Talk to you guys then! goodbye and thankyou!

WEEK 4!

WELCOME AGAIN!
So on this day, we worked more on our flash animation of our cars and edited our ABC Open videos!

In Flash, with our animated cars we moved the wheels and constructed a wall for the car to crash into!

This is the car that I drew! I un-fortunently had to re-draw the car because I couldn't find my original file on the computer, and hence had to start all over. I drew my wheels as an oval so when they rotated they didn't fit properly haha. It kind of looks like a Flinstones car!

... And this is the wall I made for the animation! We made a 2D brick wall, and then with using the Free Transform Tool to distort the wall to make it look as if it was along a road (as you can tell I didn't do a very realistic job haha)

Thats all we worked on this week in Flash :) it doesn't look like much, buy my oh my it took a long time!

For the ABC open project, I uploaded all of my videos onto iMovie

and then, I listened back to my audio and timed how long I talked about on each subject, therefore trimming the separate video clips to match up with what I was speaking about.

Once completed, I exported the video and uploaded onto VIMEO!

And once that was uploaded, I added the necessary tags for it to be uploaded onto ABC Open Video Postcards.

As that was uploaded, I got an email from ABC Open telling me that they saw and liked my video and it is now available to be viewed on the ABC open website!

The link to my video is: https://open.abc.net.au/projects/video-postcards-30rs6yp/contributions/courtney-s-abc-open-virtual-postcard-42lv2ig

Thankyou so much for viewing my blog once again on another week! I hope you enjoyed my video, and that it gives you a little inside of what my university experience is like :) I will write to you again soon, lots of love, Courtney :)
